How local PDF processing protects files

Understand what stays in your browser and how temporary results are stored.

Processing stays on the device

Gokme reads PDF bytes in your browser and runs page operations in a worker. The input PDF and its file name are not sent to the web server. This is useful for avoiding uploads, but it does not replace your organization’s rules for handling confidential files.

Know where the output lives

Results are stored in IndexedDB in the current browser for 30 minutes so a refresh or a language change can still find them. A result link on another device will not contain the document. Delete a result when finished, particularly on a shared computer. Expired records are cleaned when the tool is used again.

Keep a durable copy

Download any output you want to keep and check where your browser saved it. Local storage can be cleared by privacy mode, browser settings, extensions or storage pressure. A download button click is not proof that the file has finished saving; open the downloaded PDF to confirm.
